1. Da Bac Island

Da Bac Island is located in Kinh Hon village, Khanh Binh Tay commune, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province. It is 480m from mainland, 50 km from Ca Mau city in the West and has a natural area of ​​ 6.34 hectares, consisting of three islands: Ong Ngo Island, Da Bac Le Island and Da Bac Island. In the cluster of 3 these island, Da Bac Island is the highest; therefore, people call them Da Bac Island generally. This is a small island located close to the shore, not as big as many other islands; however, Da Bac Island has a strategic position in ensuring national defense and security and facilitating marine economics and tourism.
Coming to Da Bac Island is coming to the paradise on the rock island. The marvelous natural characteristics and the legends of the fairy yard, the fairy wells will take us to be lost in the Elysium. On this island, there are many mysterious stories passed through the generations, particularly the story about the whale rescuing people in the sea.
Beside beautiful natural landscapes and a convergence place of spiritual values of coastal people in Kinh Hon village, Da Bac Island is also the place where happened the case of CM12 – dismantled the illegal immigration of Le Quoc Tuy and Mai Van Hanh to overthrow Socialist regime. CM12 is a large- scale counterintelligence campaign in terms of time, space and fighting force arrangement. This is one of the best and proudest victories of the People’s Police Force.
On June 22nd, 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued the decision on recognizing Da Bac Island – the command center of counterintelligence plan CM12 (September 09th, 1981- September 09th,1984) as a National historic relic. To promote the significant historic value, the Ministry of Public Security continued to invest in building a number of other important items. Up to now, Da Bac Island has 3 major works: The monument of Homeland Security Protection 21m high, President Ho Chi Minh Temple; People’s Public Security Museum and Relics Exhibition Zone. Da Bac Island has really become a “red address” to promote, educate traditions and an attractive tourism destination for domestic and international visitors in Ca Mau. All the historical values and natural beauty made a small coastal island always shone and sparkled like a pearl in the sea and sky in the southernmost point of Vietnam.

2. Unique bird sanctuary in the heart of the city

Bird sanctuary in Ca Mau city is located in President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Unit 1, Ward 1, Ca Mau City. Bird sanctuary has an area of ​​4.5 hectares with more than 14,000 birds that make their nests, breed and live here.

U Minh Ha National Park has a total area of ​​8,256 hectares, is located in Khanh Lam and Khanh An communes, U Minh district and Tran Hoi, Khanh Binh Tay Bac communes, Tran Van Thoi district. U Minh Ha National Park is a seasonal wetland. The flora here consists of mangrove forests, seasonally flooded grassland and vacant swamps. Thi Tuong lagoon is a unique natural landscape in the southernmost point of Vietnam. In order to reach Thi Tuong lagoon, visitors can go along the National Highway 1A to Nam Can for approximately 27km (here watching a signage to Xeo Duoc Provincial Party Committee Base), turn right and go straight 12km along a newly built concrete road to this charming nature spot.
Thi Tuong lagoon is located in 3 districts of Cai Nuoc, Tran Van Thoi and Phu Tan and is known as a peaceful, idyllic and rustic nature and human spot of Ca Mau. It is considered the most beautiful lagoon in the Mekong Delta. Thi Tuong lagoon is nestled in the heart of immense water surface and is surrounded by green nipa trees. Thi Tuong has three main lagoons: Dam Trong (inner lagoon), Dam Giua (middle lagoon) and Dam Ngoai (outer lagoon), of which Dam Ngoai is the largest. It shapes like a balloon swelling out. Looking down from above, Thi Tuong lagoon shapes like a guitar, is nearly 2 kilometers wide and 10 kilometers long and has the total water surface of around 700 hectares.
Thi Tuong lagoon is attached to a strange legend: in the ancient time, Ms. Tuong was one of the first to explore Ca Mau. She was resilient and brave to drive birds that were assigned to take stones to fill in the sea by Chua Ho away because King Thuy Te refused its betrothal gifts to get married to the Princess. The gaps guarded by Ms. Tuong were still intact and not filled in by stones and the habitat for fish and shrimp. Moved by the merits of Ms. Tuong, people have named the lagoon after Ms.Tuong, i.e Thi Tuong lagoon nowadays.
Coming to Thi Tuong Lagoon, we are lost in a romantic scene. At a far distance, there are large and small stilt house scattered approximately 100m – 200m apart. That gap is the boundary of each household who exploits and raises marine products here. Every house group is a “small village” lying on the vast water surface where there are fish traps, nets, etc. The destination of visitors on the lagoon is not an experience restaurant or a luxury hotel but stilt houses of fishers right on the lagoon.
