All those things that the Nature gave Ninh Binh create the romantic and peaceful scenery.
Bai Dinh Pagoda
Located about 15km to the northwest of Ninh Binh City, Bai Dinh Pagoda has been built since 2003 with the largest scale in Vietnam. The highlight of this pagoda is the imposing architecture in combination with the traditional features of the ancient Vietnamese architecture. As a result, this famous pagoda has become a place of pilgrimage of many domestic and international tourists. They gather here to cultivate virtues and morals, ask for the good things in life and burn the incense sticks. Bai Dinh Pagoda is the largest pagoda in the Southeast Asia with many records such as: the biggest bell in Vietnam, the highest and heaviest copper Buddhist statue in Vietnam, the largest well in Vietnam, etc. All the above things make this pagoda become more and more majestic in the eyes of people all over the world.
Located about 7 km to the south of Ninh Binh City, Tam Coc – Bich Dong is regarded as a “Ha Long bay on the ground”. This is a key tourist attraction of Vietnam with a great number of new lines connecting to the tourist sites such as Tam Coc – Thai Vi – Mua Cave, Thach Bich – Thung Nang, Bich Dong Pagoda – Tien Cave – Chua Cave – Ghe Cave – Thung Nang – Nham Hill eco-tourist area. Nothing is more wonderful experiences if you can spend much time to explore all the sites in this tourist area.
Hoa Lu Ancient Capital
Hoa Lu is really a “green mountain and blue water” area with the endlessly stretching mountains favored by the Nature. Hoa Lu Ancient Capital is the kingdom of the first feudal state in Vietnam associating to the three dynasties: Dinh – Le – Ly. Therefore, this land is considered as a spiritual area. Another special thing is that this land still maintains many relics, temples, pagodas, tombs from the Dinh – Le Dynasty. Coming to here, you not only have the chances to visit the beautiful landscape of the peaceful countryside but also learn about the history of Dinh, Le Kings’ Dynasties.
Cuc Phuong National Park
Located in Ninh Binh Province, about 120 km from Hanoi to the southwest and 45 km from Ninh Binh City to the northwest, Cuc Phuong National Park is a large natural museum with the area of 25.000 ha. This park maintains a variety of fauna and flora that always attract any tourist loving the adventures in the forests. Coming here, you can see with your own eyes the thousand-year trees, the ancient plants, the beautiful precious birds or the rare creatures. Concurrently, you can also join a trekking tour in the forest, climb the mountains and join adventurous journeys. However, a remarkable thing is that you should visit this park in the dry season from December to April because in other months, the forests here are also humid and this is the developing season of insects, so you will find it difficult to move in the forests.
Cuc Phuong National Park is home of varies of strange flora and fauna. Especially it is enjoyable to touch the thousand-year-old cho xanh (parashrea stellata) and sau (Dracontomelum Duperranum or Dancorra Edulis) trees, 50-70m high. The park is also suitable to watch birds, butterflies and orchid flowers.
